I walked out of the barn with a beautiful horse behind me. The lunge line is coiled up in my hand and the powerful animal is breathing normally. His whiskers graze over my shoulder and I can't belive how lucky I am to have such a great horse. I lead him to a small training ring and lock up the gate. I send him out, by tapping the whip against the sand. Ghost throws up his head and steps into a nice lively trot. I smile just seeing his amazing gaits. I can't wait to ride him! I flick the whip at his hindquarters and he changes to a canter. The wrong lead though. As he goes around B, I pull the line gently and flick the line at his belly. He changes leads correctly and is now on the correct lead. I smile and point the whip at his chest. He slows to a trot, then a walk. Finally he halts. I call him in and his hooves thud against the sand as he walks towards me. I take off his halter and send him out once more. I crack the whip softly against the ground and he bolts foward. I smile as I see his ear point towards me. The first step of join up! After two more rounds, his head is lowered and he begins making chewing motions. I drop eye contact and turn my back to him. I hear him stop. And soon hooves beating against the sand. Then I feel a soft muzzle against my shoulder. I walk foward 4 steps and he follows. I turn around and hug him. He breaths gently out on me and I put his halter back on. I lead him back to the stables. Tomarrow, I will put a saddle on him!
