I led Silver, fully tacked up in her flashy new brown matching saddle and bridle to the jumping ring. I mounted her and she stood still for me. I cinched up the girth and shortened my sturrips. I gently nudged her and she moved into a beautiful walk. Her gait was smooth and flawless. I gently kicked her again and she moved to a trot. After warming up her muscles and joints, I asked for a canter in the right corner. She changed her strides immediatly and she moved to a rocking canter. I could sit easily to her beautiful gait and I smiled. I halted her, and she stopped on a dime. I looked at the jumps set up. There were three. Two feet, Two point five feet, and three feet. I gently nudged her to trot. As we approached the first jump, she extended her stride and popped over the two foot jump easily. THe next jump had flower pots besides it. Silver pricked her ears at them and stopped short. I let her sniff them before continuing on. This time, she hopped over the fence with little hesitation. We cantered swiftly to the last jump and she soard over it. I love jumping Silver! I will remember to introduce her to jumps before just jumping them next time though!
