** For the beginning of this go to walking and read my latest article** Ok, after we entered the ring I decided to get off Firely's excess energy by lunging her. I removed hers reins and rolled up my peathingy stirrups. I hooked the lunge line on and picked up my lunge whip. I sent her out. She walked 6 laps because she was a bit stiff. After we worked out her kinks, I asked for a trot. She snorted a bit ans cantered a stride when I asked for a bit more trot. Then I asked for a canter. At first Firefly was stiff but after a lap or two she was fine. The cold air was making her stiff though she gets out often. I ran her thorough some poles trotting and cantering. Since I was short on time I didn't ride her but plan to soon. I walked Firefly cool and we went back to the crossties for a good grooming before she went back into her stall for the night. It was a great training session.
