Finally! My stable was done! The builders had finished, and in the past couple days I had put all the furnishngs- from rings in the stalls to automatic waterers to saddle racks. Remi could finally have a permenant home! I felt bad, seeing she really liked it here, I did too, but she will LOVE Sea Fire Stables. I know. I built it with her interests in mind. Plus, now I could bring my other horses! This was great. I had already brought everything except Remi and her tack to the new stables. The stable was close enough to ride to, so I was going to ride her there. There was a great trail to the new stables I owned that had AWESOME cross-country jumps. This was going to be great. In the stable I walked quickly. Whispering Winds was an AMAZING stable, but I couldn't wait to get to one even better. One that was mine! Right into Remi's stall I went, I had already taken her halter, so I grabbed all her tack and tacked her up in her stall. I didn't need a halter to tack her up. Alright. We're ready! I buckled my helmet and mounted outside. I said my last words to the owner and we set off towards the trails.
We ended up just trotting sedately for the first couple minutes. We were both enjoying the view, it was so pretty. I decided it was time to canter, so a lift and a message from my seat and Remi's smooth canter came out nicely, and we rounded a corner. Up ahead there were some fallen logs, wide and stout. Remi's ears perked up instantly. Ten strides, a laugh and a gentle push later and we were over and on to the next one. Up and over! Next there was small strean, and Remi in surrprise LEAPED over the less than one foot wide stream. I luaghed and brought her down to walk. We walked and trotted for about 10 minutes until the trail opened to one of the fields that borders a couple of the paddocks. I pushed her up to canter, than got into half-seat and pushed her up to gallop. We thundered across the field. I had previously walked every field, pasture, and paddock, fixing fences, picking up rocks, sticks, and other nuisances, and checked for holes and ditches. There weren't any in the middle of this field, so we were safe. Remi wasn't very fast, but she still was fun. Finally I saw the paddocks in sight, and brought Remi down to a canter, then to a trot, then to a walk. I then walked her up to her new home.
